Long time no see!

Time flies. Manuel is maturing fast, both mentaly and physically.

Before we bought Manuel we read a lot about Akitas. We read about how many Akitas stole food, so we were very clear telling him what was ok, and what was not ok. Sometimes we discuss if we have been too consistent, not letting him get any freedom. Well this morning we had a good laugh. We had dinner last night. Manuel's favourite - chicken.

We let some plates on the sideboard as we usually do. He has never touched anything. This morning a heard a crunching sound, and found Manuel chewing on something. It was all red on his blanket, and I thought; blood!!! Haha, it was orange, it was Aivar Reliesh. Mikael had left some chicken in a tissue, and Manuel had stolen some. I could not help laughing, and actually apreciating the fact that he had stolen. He is not surpressed... hihi

Then I saw him in the kitchen sneaking, sniffing around, and I just asked with a normal tone of voice: what are you doing? I have never seen him turning around as fast, and running out of the kitchen.

The past months he has gained some kilos, his coat is getting better and better and he is showing signs mentally of a mature grown up dog. Last month we went for walks with Arnold, a miniature Schnauzer (male) without any problems. They were running loose side by side, respecting each other. Of course, we have our "downs" as well, but we can see a clear change in the amplitude of the curves in the graph. Not so high, or low any more.

During MyDog he surprised me by being very social to strange people as well as calming Ninjo (male) so that the two of them could be in the small show-case at the same time. Of course that also shows how Ninjo is changing as well. Ninjo has now company of Kumi, and needs to be more of a big-brother, which he handles very well.
