Akitas and the da*n ancle again
Tuesday, 01 September 2009 00:00
Monday the 31st of August and Tuesday the 1st of September

In the morning Me Kumi and Manuel went to a park to meet Ella and Theo with their humans. We went for a nice walk. Theo who is not very fond of other male dogs walked a bit in front of us. After a while he went home. He is 11 years old and can not take any long walks. Manuel, Kumi and Ella behaved very well and walked very close to each other without no problems. Manuel made his best to charm Ella (who is I believe not a child in Manuel's eyes, as Kumi is) but when no success (we did not let him play with Ella, since I was walking two dogs) he turned to Kumi.Innocent

I only brought my compact camera so the quality of the picture is not the best...

In the afternoon I walked Manuel and Kumi. We met two dogs so I asked both Manuel and Kumi to sit down, and so they did. Then I noticed something behind me, turned quickly around, and ....I heard to snaps, a terrible pain in my foot, and I was lying on the ground. A dog - unleashed headed towards us and I just screamed: " take away your bloo*y dog!". Both dogs still sitting obedient even though I was on the ground and an unleashed dog was one meter away. The dog went away and I lay on the ground screaming, to both Kumi's and Manuel's astonishment. After a while I could sit up again, and guess what? I saw the back of the person with the unleashed dog, just walking away! Yell

I called Mikael, but he was out of town, so he called some neighbors and they came with a bike to help me home, and take the dogs...

Then I spent all evening at the emergency ward, but I had to go home again, since there was so many accidents. I went back the day after, and after five hours they could say that nothing was broken. I am now using crutches and poor Manuel has to spend every day at the day-care. Kumi get's minimal walks, in a very very slow pace. But she is surprisingly understanding and takes it very easy.

They found out on the x-ray that I had an old injury that had given me a lot of loose bone-bits in the ancle...and yes, some years ago I jumped out of a bus, landing with the foot on the side....uuuuu it still hurts when I think about it.

Anyhow...Mikael has to do some extra job now in the mornings and evenings, but that is life...
