So life passes by and we just keep on working, sleeping and of course spending time with Manuel.

Saturday, 6th of September 2008

We went for a walk in "Pildammsparken" (a park) in the morning, and that is good training. Different kinds of dogs, (and dog-owners) strange sculptures and a lot of interesting birds and rabbits. The past weeks we have focused on keeping the level of obedience, not moving forward, since a lot of other stuff is going around in Manuel's head.  So the level of demands has not increased, but staying on the same level is sometimes tough enough for a dog in change. He has been walking a lot in parks ever since he was a puppy, but now I can see that he is more aware of his hunting instincts so we go back to training "not chasing the duck, the rabbit" etc. It is really good to expose him to that temptation. Otherwise we have had a lazy week-end which all three of us appreciated.

Manuel is such a darling. Both me and Mikael can clearly see how he is in a progress of change. He is so clear in getting us to understand what he wants. He is a very good communicator. He can come and fetch us - we ask "what do you want?" and he shows us. Either he goes to the place where all his toys are (play-time!!!) or he lays down in the kitchen looking at the micro-wave, waiting silent and patiently (time for food) and many many other things.

In the afternoon we went for a small trip to the sea, and had a coffe break with a nice view. I guess it will be more and more rare sitting outside... autumn is here.  

Of course we brought our cameras, and I guess Manuel in some what way can relate to us, stopping, lying on the ground, checking out things,  since he does the same..but for other reasons..(Sniffing around). 

And see!!! There was also a very good place of drilling the "not chasing rabbits, when I am not allowed to". haha!

Anyhow, we had a lovely day!

On the Sunday we went for an Akita meeting/stroll in Malmö city which was arranged by one of our members, Imelda and her bitch Ella. It was nice weather and nice company. Picures can be found on via this link.
