Here you can read about the journey to Spain.
Charlotte is in Spain nowMonday, 05 June 2006 Charlotte has landed in Spain, rented a car and is now driving towards the hotell in Vitoria, aproximately 50 kilometers from Bilbao (north of Spain). Tonight it is planned that she will have dinner with the kennel owner, Silvia. After months and months of preparations I can now feel that this is for real. Tomorrow Charlotte will investigate if it is possible to squeeze Manuel inte a soft bag, so that she can have him in the normal cabine, with her during the flight home. Otherwise it is still plan A - the plastic hard cage in the "animals cabine". Tomorrow the plane will take-off from Bilbao and then they will go via Madrid to Arlanda, Stockholm. At five ó clock in the morning (Thursday) Charlotte and Manuel will then catch the train (X-2000) towards Malmö central station, where I will pick them up by car. /Mikael They are on their way home nowTuesday, 06 June 2006 In a few minutes the plane will take-off from Madrid towards Arlanda. Along with Charlotte in the cabine is Manuel. Charlotte managed to persuade the staff that Manuel should join her and not sit all alone in the "animal cabine". If they hadn't bought these reasonable arguments, she would have had to pick him up from the bag and asked them if they really thought that such a little, pretty puuuppy should travel aaaaalll alone! I think the femal staff would have reacted to our favour in this situation. Previous, when it was time to insert the ID-chip, the vet was too fast, and inserted the incorrect one (not defined in the pass-port) so they had to perfom a small "surgery" and remove the chip, and insert a new one. Two stiítches was the end-result. Today when Charlotte was at the vet's for a final check-up they could not find the chip. X-ray showed that yes, the chip was there..but it did not work. So... a new one was inserted, and the vet had to sign a document were the whole story was explained, defining the ID-number that was meant to be, and then the new ID that replaced the old one. Being afterwise...of course they could have left the first one "in" instead of this circus with 3 chips. But who would have known this would occur? Charlotte has met both parents, Kumi and Goshi. She has some several megabytes of pictures of dogs on the memory-card of the camera. So if curious, one has to wait some days before seing these. /Mikael
