Vacation week1 - at the Summer house
Midsummer - the Swedish unofficial national day. I went to the summer houselate in the evening the 23rd. Unpackning a car loaded with food and other stuff at midnight. Manuel was with me and Mikael was to join us the day after.
the 24th of June - Midsummer's eve. Windy, chilly - a normal situation for this celebration. We spent the evening at Pia's and Philip's summer house and it was lovely. Manuel was there and also another dog and all went just fine. I find it strange that human expects all dogs to greet a total stranger with joy.
The bitch there, was not really any differenct to Manuel when it comes to what she felt, facing strangers being too intrusive. She did not appreciate it. But the difference is that Manuel handles it by moving away. She thought that "mini-attacks" had to be done BEFORE anything uncomfortable occured. Manuel on the other hand knows I will "protect him". I guess she had to handle those kind of situations on her own too many times. Anyhow, a lovely bitch wich I think "needed a job".
the 25th Midsummer's day. I took a long walk with Manuel. Mikael had "somewhat headache" and took it very easy during the day. In the evening we joined some friends from Osby at a hostel they stayed at for some BBQ. It was still windy but slightly warmer. Manuel joined us of course! ;)
the 26th.We took it easy, it was getting warmer. We went to Laholm for some cookies since my parents where to come and stay for one night. Manuel just loves them! Then we spent the day taking it easy, taking macro-photos and reading, listening to the radio and just...just having vacation!
My parents went to a concert in the evening and we had some BBQ.
the 27th. A warm warm day. A lovely morning walk in Mellbystrand where we met an man who had had Akita at the "start in Sweden". Very interesting talking to him and I guess he had something nice to tell his wife when coming home ;)
Then we went to Halmstad which is such a lovely small summer-town. We had ice-cream at the square where "Akita-Kalle" and his Mika ususally eat ice-cream but we did not see them ;) Mikael bought some nice shoes and we had lunch at a restaurant where Manuel could join us. Then it was time for siesta, for real.
In the evening we went to Hovs Hallar late in the evening and saw the sun disappear "into the ocean".
